School Holiday ideas for children in Brisbane
The holidays are just around the corner, here’s some ideas for children’s excitement to keep them busy all summer!
3 FREE AND FUNS School Holiday Activities :
South bank parkland is always a good idea, the amenities are amazing for the children : pool, water games, playground, giant slides, restaurants, etc. Careful it is very busy during school breaks, make sure you are coming early!
Also make sure to go on a ride aboard the City hooper ferry and it’s free!
Roma street parklands is another alternative, no pool, but a stunning public garden to with your children. Another plus is the Parkland Explorer train that provides an alternative to guided walks.
The Parkland Explorer usually operates:
- Wednesday, Thursday and Friday between 10am and 12.30pm
- Saturday and Sunday between 10am and 3pm.
The Enoggera reservoir is Brisbane’s most exclusive swimming spot, dating from 1866, the Gap’s bush water playground is one of Walkabout Creek’s leading attractions. You can enjoy a walk with your little ones on the Araucaria Track (a 5km circuit). It is a splendid easy grade shaded path, suited to all ages, which follows the water’s edge and has a few strategically placed benches for a rest with a view.
You can also rent a Kayak for few hours if you feel like exercise your arms!
